I think that silent movies are quite entertaining if you understand that they are actualy done for an example 'Safety First' with Harold Lloyd he actually climbs the side of the building, where unlike today most people use computers, green screens, camera angles and many other ways to make that part look more realistic. I think that the idea of making a movie without sound will be very difficult and must be carefully planned.
The comments here and your subsequent research on the most influential artists of this genre are fine Claire. Try to reflect and answer the following things? Is this visual story telling effective? Does it have any relevance to today's modern audiences (do films or TV ever adopt this kiind of humour? Maybe in the case of Mr Bean or The Chuckle Brothers the answer could be yes). How are certain scenes selected by a director to tell a story this way. Think of a short famous story and think about how you tell it using this silent medium
